Privacy Policy
This policy covers the English edition of maxbbq.de, intended for readers in the United States. Updated October 21, 2026. Privacy questions: info@maxbbq.de.
Website access
Your browser sends connection information to the hosting service to retrieve pages, including your IP address, request time, page address and browser details. Hosting and technical providers may process this information to deliver the website, maintain security and investigate errors. Log retention depends on the hosting configuration and operational need; records should not be kept longer than needed for those purposes or applicable obligations.
Messages you send
If you email us, we receive your address, message and anything else you include. We use these details to respond and manage the enquiry. Email providers process the information needed for delivery and storage. Correspondence is retained while needed to resolve the matter, address relevant follow-up or meet applicable legal obligations, then deleted.
Language preferences
The root home address reads preferred browser languages on your device to select an available edition. Regional language variants are matched by their main language, with English as the fallback. We do not query your IP location or send your language choice to a translation service. A manual choice is saved in local storage as maxbbq-language until you change it or clear the website's browser data. Direct links to a language edition do not automatically switch languages.
Cookies and other local storage
The current English edition does not set advertising or analytics cookies, run advertising trackers or show a consent dialog. It does not read or rely on a consent choice made in the German edition. If you have used that edition, a separate maxbbq-consent record may remain on your device for up to 180 days. You can remove all these local records in your browser's website-data settings. Clearing them does not prevent you from reading articles.
Search and external services
Category search filters the article list in your browser. Search words and page numbers are included in the URL, so they may appear in browsing history and, upon a new page request, server logs. Images and scripts are hosted with the site; there are no embedded third-party video players, external fonts or social widgets. Opening an external link sends you to another provider with its own data practices.
Sharing and retention
There are no user accounts, comment forms, newsletter registrations or checkout functions. Information may be processed by hosting, email and technical service providers, or disclosed when legally required. Service providers may process information in other countries. We do not currently sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use an advertising profile to personalize this site's articles.
Your choices
You may contact us about access, correction or deletion of information you supplied. Applicable privacy rights depend on your location and the circumstances; we will handle requests under the laws that apply. We may need enough information to verify a request without collecting unnecessary details. The website is general-interest editorial content and does not ask children to submit personal information. If our services or data practices change, we will update this page and provide any required notices or choices before those changes take effect.
